Building Effective Media Relations Strategies

5/24/2012

Getting the word out to media outlets about your organization and the programs it offers is one of the keys to success - but many nonprofits don’t do it effectively. Releases go out too late, to the wrong people—or don’t go out at all. And where are those photos that are worth 1,000 words? Janis Hashe of OpenLines Communication will help you learn some simple steps to increasing your media profile. Janis was the contributing editor of The Pulse for three years, has been a freelance writer for more than 25 years, and owned her own PR agency in Los Angeles for five years before moving to Chattanooga in 2006. She has extensive experience working with nonprofits as a founder, board member and volunteer.
